Common red flags
- Convenient decorator sizes with no documented period counterpart.
- Perfectly repeated printed rust, scratches, or chips.
- Modern copyright, barcode, country-of-origin, laser-cut edge, vinyl, or digital-print evidence.
- Front aging that is not reflected on the back, edges, holes, or hardware.
- Copied maker marks without matching construction.
- Brand elements from different decades combined in one design.
- A seller who will not provide the back, dimensions, or close-up photographs.
